I've just been doing this for about 2 years by myself. I started with recording on cassette tapes, then I got more advanced and got a program where I record right on to cd.Have you performed in front of an audience?I have done about 4 live performances, and competed in the Wisconsin Idol taking 8th place. The judges were not looking for rap, and I was the only rapper in it. If they judged by crowd response, I would have had it hands down. I don't really like live as much, but the special moment would have been when the crowd at one of my performances started chanting my name. Also I had a couple instant fans come up to me to see when I would be puting out my first cd. It was pretty cool.
Your musical influences
My own life kind of influences my music. My writing and rapping is kind of like my therapy to help me deal with my past. I would say Eminem has helped me more on going for it as wellWhat equipment do you use?
I use a microphone, and sony acid music studio 5.0 to record my lyrics to existing instrumentals, and for beat creation, I use fruity loops and hip hop 2. There are also some good loop samples in acid.
