Story behind the song
Wrote this song as a Country Folk song about the obvious, we have become disconnected. As well we get 100s of calls every week from scammers and Spamers as well...we don't really know the people we think we know. Now what this young man did with my song is amazing, I never heard it this way, after listening one time, I LOVED IT!! To think kids are thinking the same way as this old man about social media. Hope You Enjoy what he did with it.
Lyrics
Woke up this morning to another pixel sunrise, My phone lit up before I opened my eyes. Messages, likes, and scammers with dreams, But I ain't heard a real voice in a week, it seems. We used to talk under old oak trees, Now we talk using memes behind handheld screens. Surrounded by thousands in silent streams, Still feelin lost, cant help but feel unseen. Scrollin through faces Ill never meet, Tappin on hearts but feelin defeat. Everybody's smilin', but I just want to scream Just another lost soul behind all these screens. Lets meet on a front porch, give me a hand to hold, Not just a phony picture thousand have scrolled. Give me your time, not another online routine, Im dyin inside behind all these cold cold screens. I saw a friend today, at least I thought I did, Turned out to be a memory my phone had hid. We used to laugh together, now we L.O.L. with memes, In a world full of data, weve lost more than our dreams. We used to dance, now we just type, Living our lives through social media hype. Crying in silence, bursting at the seams, Still feelin lost behind all these screens. Woke up this morning another pixel sunrise, My phone lit up before I opened my eyes. Messages, likes, and scammers with dreams, But I ain't heard a real voice in a week, it seems.
