Story behind the song
This song was composed on 8/26/2025. I needed a song for ESL class, and the topic for this week is Labor Day. Our work is a gift from God; and, over the centuries, there have been times where employers have not treated their employees fairly. Hence, the rise of Labor Unions to advocate for the laborers. The pendulum can swing both ways; but, no matter how difficult your labor may be, all can find rest and comfort in Jesus Christ. God can use our labor as a way to share His peace with others.
Lyrics
28Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
