About Part Eastern World and Part Western Metal: Healer combines the polar opposites of yin and yang to create a deep, momentous listening experience. At once epic and very beautiful with a powerful sentiment that is refreshingly different in heavy music. This eclectic melding of musical styles and talents produces a passionate energy, and intense dynamic. Healer was formed by Ivan de Prume, drummer/percussionist and founding member of the multi-platinum selling band White Zombie, in July of 2003. He began composing songs with various renowned musicians which he produced and engineered at his Los Angeles, California recording studio, Burningsound Studio, to forge his musical vision into the sonic masterpiece that would become the bands debut release, Awakening. There is an energy that is unique in healers Awakening. Colorful percussive rhythms, two soul-stirring vocalists and a soaring violin enmesh with an insistent backline to combine into a seamless soundscape of exotic Middle Eastern melodies with heavy overtones. The diverse backgrounds that contribute to the sound of healer come together in an amazingly creative musical journey.
