If you've never been here before: I am a keyboardist and sometime sessionist pottering away at my first solo writing and production project which goes by the name Big Wheel, and was born in February 2006. It's a broad range of uplifting and musical electronica styles guaranteed to make your ears happy. I had my first piano lesson in 1980, and my last in 1983. I saw my first real synthesiser in 1985 and started multitracking using multiple tape recorders. In 1987 I had my first go in a studio with a sequencer, and have never looked back. I spent almost nine years as keyboardist for Indie-rock band Tin Gods (soundclick.com/tingods), and have been working as writer/engineer/producer/collaborator at the Buzzstation studio in Fleetwood, Lancashire for some years. Big Wheel is my first solo project, started in 2006 as more of a technical exercise than anything, but which has quickly developed into something I have become very fond of. It's a mix of electronica styles, DnB, house, lounge, trip-hop, chillout , all piano heavy, and more recently featuring some of my guitar work as well. I've done two albums, 'Rollin' and 'The Difficult Second', and am currently working on the third: 'Ergosphere'. That's it. I hope you like the tunes, and I am open to anything anyone has to say to me about them so please drop me a line at theonlyrealdave@hotmail.co.uk and let me know what you think. Cheers for your attention. Dave (BigWheel)

Story behind the song
It's long, noodly, and difficult to produce without taking it to the studio, which I'm going to do, but unfortunately not in time for the final of Tard Wars III, so this version will have to do and I hope it's not too sh** . I dedicate this track to the memory of my best friend Chris, who died recently.

I had to download this first time I heard it. And you hope it's 'not too sh** ' ??? I can't find any fault with it as it is. Nothing strikes me as being out of place. It reminds me a little of Tangerine Dream - but modern and jazzy. I like it! - John

Well, done. You put a lot of work into this one and it shows. This piece has grown on me as I continue to listen. Great track!

Wonderful track, really wonderful. One of the best pieces of music I listened in months. Great!
Well I can hear the big wheels turning. Here?s experimental sounds mixed with lounge jazz. Rich pads, processed saws, almost clean guitars and pianos. What a great mix. Fire feels good! Opens up peaceful places as soon as you close your eyes and allow the sound to enter you mind. Very interesting, state of the art production, mix and master. And the greatest thing about it is, that though there?s basically the same harmonies all the time, there?s constant development! Congrats on this. My 5 Cents. In the second half you introduce an 80s lead synth. I would not use this at all. 1 because this sound has been used over and over, and you got a tasteful selection of really fresh sounds here, so it doesn?t fit. 2. because the feel of the song doesn?t really allow the use of such a synth (to my ears) Cheers and thanks for sharing. Highly interesting! Andreas
