Paper Cats is a lover's duo. We range through folk and anti-folk to rougher electrified rock and blues; Chris plays guitars--six string, twelve string, classical acoustic, electric, you name it--and Lauren mostly sings. Some of our work is Chris's solo guitar composition, some Lauren's solo ballads, but increasingly our work is collaborative, usually with Chris writing guitar parts and Lauren writing vocal parts. We are enjoying ourselves immensely.

Story behind the song
The tune contains no plain major chords, by design, as a way to keep it from settling in too well anywhere. The working title of the tune was Incompleted Things, because it sounded that way. Then Chris wrote a lyric while staring at the sky in the back yard.
Lyrics
I was caught in a tangle of twilight and daydreams spending myself on just getting by doesn't the wind sound lonely tonight? The more that I looked back the more that I stumbled and mumbled myself and forgot to look up doesn't the wind sound sadly tonight? CHORUS maybe the garden will grow us a flower VERSE The more that I looked back the more that I stumbled and mumbled myself and forgot to look up doesn't the wind sound sadly tonight? But nobody's watching and nobody cares and nobody matters and nobody's here wouldn't the wind hold you closely tonight? CHORUS maybe the garden will grow us a flower maybe the sunrise will give us a day
