Paul Lee Maass (Frogafone to some folks) has been a font of inspiration to me for many years though you'll play hell ever getting me to admit it. "Froggie's Lament" is my gift to him for all the years of aggravation, encouragement, enlightenment and exasperation that have forced me, kicking and screaming, to be a better player and musician. Though I've learned to be cautions about rising to his bait, these lyrics hooked me right away and I knew they were too good to molder away in some cyberspace archive. They are a wonderfully poignant and wistful reflection on mortality from the winter side of life and gently remind us all of what's really important in life and the hearafter.
So here's to you Froggie and may you (and all of us) always be someone's warm old memory long after you are frozen in the ground.
