Artist picture
I have been writing from the time I could play my guitar at 12 years old, I'm 72 now and for the last few years I've been writing Christian music.
I'm a good ole boy from Georgia. As I've gotten older, I feel I have a calling from God to write Christian music. There are enough of my old lady done left with my dog songs. I'm sharing the good news of Jesus to an increasingly damaged world.

Lyrics
When Daddys drinking (C) 2014 By Donnie Priest I woke up late last night Must be a hell of a fight Under the pillow goes my head Dad with a fifth of Jack Bag with another six pack Nights like this I would always dread Dad would try slipping in Hed been drinking again Mama would be waiting at the door Back then when I was so small Nothing I could do at all But wish Dad wouldnt do this anymore (chorus) I used to pray For better days My heart would be breaking Didnt have a clue Didnt know what to do When Daddy would be drinking It seemed like such a crime This happened all the time The windows broken out of the 64 Mom screaming down the hall When Dad starts his alcohol Dad pasted out on the living room floor (chorus) I used to pray For better days My heart would be breaking Didnt have a clue Didnt know what to do When Daddy would be drinking (bridge) When he was sober, theres no better man Everyone that he meets, hes their next best friend Dont know the reason, that causes him to drink Wish he would pour it all, down the kitchen sink One day Dad came around Put that bottle down Hasnt had a drink since 74 No longer high as a kite Sneaking in late at night Nothing but carpet on the living room floor (chorus) I used to pray For better days My heart would be breaking Didnt have a clue Didnt know what to do Back when Dad would be drinking Thank you Dad
