Think '70's cop show theme tune', and you're on the right track.
rock funk music
We make rock with a groove.
THIRD SUMMER are a rock band from the UK. We're heavily influenced by good music, and not influenced at all by bad music. Our first cd is now complete, and all the songs are here for you to play (if you like 'em!). We recorded it live, so what you hear is what you get, warts and all. Feel free to visit our official website, and sign up to the forum, which all 3 of us frequent. Play the music loud and don't forget to put on your best dancing trousers!

Story behind the song
NO ESCAPE Jamie - " This one is difficult for me, with my limited musical ability and tendency to forget entire sections of music. It sounds kind of like a 70's porno or blaxploitation film. There are a few lyrical double-entendres, but they were mainly unintended. It's really about the limitations that habits and image can place on our behaviour. And if you believe that I have a large historical monument I'd like to sell you. " Martin - " Another one of those riffs that Jamie wrote, and another of those funky little buggers! This one is also fun to play, and also gives Paul a chance to throw his sticks around the kit. It always reminds me of early episodes of TV shows like Starsky and Hutch or, come to think of it, any visual scene which consists of a whole lot of strutting" Paul - " All I can remember of recording this one is trying to remember what Martin had said about ensuring the groove was tight but loose! Tough song to play, but really enjoy listening to the result, its hard to groove, swing and rock in the same track! Props to Jamie for outstanding bass work in this one, this song is more dependant on him than anyone else and he nailed it!! "
