Story behind the song
The song was written for "The Christmas Eve", a theatre performance, based on the story of Nikolai Gogol. In the performance it is sung by Oksana, the village beauty and her girlfriends, as they get ready for the Christmas celebrations. The premiere: Amsterdam Stadsschouwburg 1999 Premiere of the show was in Amsterdam Stadsschouwburg in 1999
